Kinosaki Tatsuhiko, a detective at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s First Investigative Division, and his partner Sasazuka Shinpei were active as the No. 1 buddy team with the highest arrest rate. However, one day, Kinosaki’s beloved wife Keiko suddenly disappeared. After that, a freelance journalist who was a senior to Keiko was found dead, and Kinosaki became convinced that Keiko had been involved in the incident, but the police did not investigate, and Kinosaki was removed from the investigation. Infuriated by the police’s inexplicable response, Kinosaki resigned and formed the “Missing Persons Search Team,” a detective agency specializing in missing persons cases, to find Keiko himself. As he pursued the whereabouts of Keiko and the others with the help of a unique group of professionals in each field and Sasazuka, his number one ally, the “disappeared truth,” which could be said to be a great darkness in society, began to be revealed.
