The shiow turned ever more bleak and depressing thatn I thought possible – not a criticism though – I enjoyed this season for the most part and I felt that the tragic ending was definitely where the story led to naturally Small complaints though – Gi Hun and Front Man after the reveal should have been fleshed out more. The detective vs Front Man felt like an anti climactic event – this story line should have been developed better.
When the director said the final season was heavy, I had no idea how heavy to expect, but it definitely turned out heavier than I imagined. This entire series was brilliantly wrapped up and I think it really leaves you pondering about a lot of things. Despite what people said about s2 not living up to the first, I liked s2 more, and s3 surpassed that. The cruelest part about s3 wasn’t the gore but the suspense and overall harsh reality in life and humanity. S3 was really brutal, and sometimes it felt even more so than s1. Thoroughly enjoyed all three seasons and for me, s2 and s3 did not disappoint at all. And I loved that instead of delivering a copy-paste vibe for the sequels, s2 and s3 offered something deeper compared to s1 and the plot thickened. Can’t believe this is the end of the series already. The ending was a surprise. And I mean, the ending at the very end.
Episode 2 was harsh, very harsh.

Well now……..This has gone into directions I did NOT expect……..which is a GOOD thing.

Finale was………..unexpected. Wrapped up neatly? HELL no lol. We all know how Koreans are with their works in this industry. Absolutely notorious for open endings and that’s how I feel about this. When we gush and rave about how good something is, it sets a high bar that prequels/sequels often can not match. I’m ok with this.
We’ve seen some cruel games. First two seasons had gamers being offed by the organization upon failures. But the hide and seek game in this one pit them against each other in a bloody death match making this the darkest game of the series~
One thing I didn’t care for was the NK womans story. They put a lot of emphasis on her but It felt out of place and distracting and I don’t think it contributed very much. No impact but that’s just me.
And chat………..when he said “Humans are……….” with baby in hand at the edge of the platform. How many of yall thought he was going to say something messed up and toss the baby?!?!? Because that’s what my wife and I thought. She was 🫣 and I was full on 😖cringe mode. There was just something in his demeanor that made us think he was going to do it. In any case, we enjoyed this series. It was so dark through out the drama but scenes like that sacrifice at the end and a few others, they really stood out and shined~
I definitely did not think at all that he would sacrifice the baby. If anything the person who is unchanged, stubbornly so, across all three seasons is 456.
