University student K is an ordinary young woman, but, one day, she finds herself in her favorite romance novel set during historical times. She has now become the minor character Cha Seon Chaek. She is the daughter of a wealthy noble family and her dream is to have a peaceful and normal life. Cha Seon Chaek, while possessed by K, then spends one night with Lee Beon, the lead male character in the novel.
He comes from a royal lineage and is favored by the King. Lee Beon has a cold-blooded personality and is gifted with an attractive appearance and outstanding martial arts skills. He has also experienced a heartbreaking past. Somehow, Lee Beon and Cha Seon Chaek happen to meet and talk. Lee Beon is consoled by her about his heartbreaking past. They spend the night together. Soon, Cha Seon Chaek tries to connect Lee Beon to Cho Eun Ae, who is the lead female character in the novel. According to the novel, Lee Beon and Jo Eun Ae are supposed to fall in love, but, due to the appearance of Cha Seon Chaek, Cho Eun Ae’s fate has changed. No matter how hard Cha Seon Chaek tries, Lee Beon’s love always finds its way back to her.
Other people around them include Jung Su Gyeom and Do Hwa Sun. Jung Su Gyeom is a young officer from a prestigious family. He is Lee Beon’s only friend. Do Hwa Sun is an ambitious woman whose life goal is to marry Lee Beon and become a member of the royal family.

With the amount of Koreans in Korea, I don’t think a 1 liner will make much difference. They say the population is dying out, but some of that is propaganda. Like with Blacks & other races. Primary schools didn’t get the memo in SK. Kids keep showing up.

At least now she accepts that each character or person wants to be the lead in their own story…maybe it also added that Lady Eun Ae has a new suitor, Young Master Su Gyeom…so Lady Sun Chaek feels less guilty getting the Prince who keeps on saving her…and loves her.
That bratty lady has done it again…how did she made that Mark infect Lady Sun Chaek with that disease? Now she even sweet talked the Queen Dowager in doing a bride/princess selection…Prince Yi Beon isn’t even the Crown Prince or even a Grand Prince.. he’s the King’s nephew…
Oh well I’d like to see a Princess selection part in a saguk…just like those archery tournaments, that bride selection is nice to watch… it’s been so long since I’ve seen it…I think the last I saw was…The Forbidden Marriage…or was it in Under The Queen’s Umbrella…with all the schemes and all of the candidates…this will be fun!
Ohhh I watched both of those historical dramas and loved them both! But also can’t remember which scene it was… my guess is the first one.. I guess it’s time that I rewatch lol
She thinks shes in the novel so it has to follow the books order but the story changed as soon as she changed things for Eun-Ae…when she did that it was no longer the book but something else….
shes made the decision now to make her own story so let see how this rides..

Honestly, I completely agree. The female lead just doesn’t bring any depth or charm — it’s like she was written to be frustrating on purpose. It’s disappointing when a show with so much potential ends up revolving around such a bland and annoying character.
True, sad that she ruined taec’s comeback.
I didn’t wanna say it, but glad someone did. I gotta think that they paired him with a 6 to make him stand out more. I missed him.

I like that since it’s fiction (inside the novel) they added that deity…
I also enjoyed this episode coz the bratty female villain wasn’t here today…
So that’s why she knows her place… it’s the trauma from that best friend and her liar-cheater boyfriend…now we know why she hides from the real world.
The preview looks good… I’m excited for the next episode!
Sudden thought….with these type of stories, will she stay in the novel or come back to reality? If she does, will she meet the prince in reality or it’d be a sad ending?? I sure hope she meets modern day ML… 🙁 don’t give us a sad ending after all these fun.
Usually they always return i can only think of one Kdrama where she timeslips and stays in the past and thats Faith(The Great Doctor)(fantastic drama btw)
Nearly every drama where they return the meet someone exactly like their love interest…im betting she eventually returns and then meets him …i dont think this will be a sad ending
Oh I didn’t watch Faith. But there’s another one I thought of, “Deserving of the Name”, where Kim Namgil’s character comes to the present and also stays in the end. I really love that drama.
And yea, fingers crossed with this one unless they pull a Scarlet Heart Ryeo on us. Lol.
I also think if she comes back to reality she’ll meet the real version of him…

It’s nice that both episodes I suddenly looked at the mirror and find myself smiling. This is a fun drama.
Now my questions…
He’s not even next to the throne (he’s a relative, so that’s why he’s a Duke) and it looks like the King is using him…the Queen Dowager doesn’t also like him…was his father or Grandfather a King before? Is that why they are very conscious and wary of him?
I wonder what’s the FL’s job in the real world… I’m curious what’s her other talent besides mixing alcohol…hahaha!
Duke isn’t really a title used in Korea/China but you do see it appear in dramas…its kind of an equivalent title as in Europe/UK dukes were members of a royal family so its showing he is a member of the kings family( he`s actually the nephew of the king…)
We dont really know a lot of their backstory yet but their grandfather wasnt the former king…the former king had only one son who died leading to a fight that put the current king on the throne,the dowager queen doesnt like either the king or him because she isnt a blood relation and her dead son was crown prince….

I like that she’s enjoying that she’s a side character that just observe… she’s a fan. I wonder what or who hurt her in real life that made her hide in her house away from the real world. Can she come back in the real world? It’s nice that the character she went in or became is someone that is opposite her real life…rich, spoiled, happy family…and her father is the Chief State Minister.
That villain girl…where have I seen her?. She’s also a villain there…wait let me search…oh in My Perfect Stranger! She’s also in Hierarchy but I think I stopped watching just a few minutes in Ep. 1 so I don’t remember her there. Since their world is in a manhwa and we’re in a drama…for sure all she’ll do are crazy and typical villain. I can’t wait to hate her! hahaha!
The Prince’ only friend…why does it feel he’ll betray his friend? Hopefully I’m wrong…coz since the Prince will end up with the side character…the FL should at least go to that friend…
feel a bit sad for SH, not sure of its her or the script, her comedic act is just not funny.

not sure how story develops, after going all in on the first night, oops ,slip of tongue, oops…there is no tension between the leads

I like it so far. I can’t figure out which is 1st or 2nd ML yet. Will the current 2nd finish 1st? She’s wrong for stealing his 1st kiss & virginity though. She deserves to be punished for that. Her whole family should die if she didn’t really like him. She’s just a drop zone.
Burning question…does Ok TaecYeon intentionally seek out quirky scrips or do they find him? First ep has its funny moments – Joseon cocktail party! So goofy, but gotta admit, TaecYeon’s deep voice caught my attention!

I’ll come back tomorrow to watch this back to back. I rarely watch only with 2 episodes ongoing… especially saguk..but since I have no historical dramas in line…this will be a fun replacement for The Haunted Palace as for saguk. Been waiting for Yoona’s return to saguk too!
